Toni Vidal retrata la cultura Catalana dels setanta
to
Museu d'Història de Catalunya Plaça de Pau Vila 3, 08003 Barcelona

Can you imagine what it would have been like to walk around bohemian Barcelona 50 years ago? The winding passages and cramped bars of Ciutat Vella might not have changed much, but the characters inhabiting them today are from a different era. Around one corner you might’ve bumped into eccentric artist Salvador Dalí, or heard renowned poet Salvador Espriu recite a verse or two. This was the experience of Menorcan photographer Toni Vidal, who used his camera to capture the best and brightest of this certain time and place, as the Catalan language bounced back from repression and found some fresh new proponents. Now this time capsule of cultural nostalgia will once again be opened as over 100 of Vidal’s photographs are displayed at the Museu d’Història de Catalunya from July 14th till October 1st.
