Monet—The Immersive Experience
Claude Monet was a pioneer in the use of free brush strokes and the author of the painting Impression, Rising Sun, which served to give a name to the artistic movement that we now know as Impressionism. The exhibition combines state-of-the-art technologies to discover how Monet, leading a whole generation of artists, observed and represented reality in a revolutionary way. After the appearance of photography, the challenge facing artists like Monet was to paint the changing reality, fleeting instants, understanding the art of painting as a spontaneous act.
Large-format projections in high definition flood the central space of the IDEAL, offering a surprising explication of the particular pictorial technique used by Monet, together with the history of his most popular works. A tribute to the painter who changed the history of art, learning to capture the beauty of the ephemeral.
In the virtual reality area, visitors can visit the most significant moments in the painter's life: from his childhood in Le Havre, his youth in Paris, trips to London, the Dutch refuge of Zaandam, family life in Argenteuil and his last stage in Giverny.
