With hundreds of concerts across forty countries, cellist and composer Matthieu Saglio presents a musical performance centered on the cello, blending classical tradition with sounds and rhythms inspired by his encounters around the world. He offers a series of moving compositions in which echoes of Western cathedrals, the souks of the Maghreb, Latin American tango and Iberian flamenco resonate. Using a sampler, he records himself live to harmonize and expand the pieces, creating the impression of multiple cellos playing together while always leaving ample space for improvisation.
