The Matsuri festival returns with an extravaganza of all things Japanese!
Try exquisite gastronomy, the trendiest fashion and traditional toys from Japan, all on sale.
The MATSURI is an annual festival inspired by the popular celebrations of Japanese neighborhoods and temples, in which processions, music, and gastronomy play an essential role. The first edition of the event was held as one of the official events commemorating the 400th anniversary of Spain-Japan relations. Since then, the Matsuri has expanded its program of activities to spread the traditional Japanese culture.
This is a free outdoor event for all ages. Get ready to be transported to Japan with performances from: Natsuko Sugano, drummer of Sado ga Shimai, Japanese folk dancer Chieko Kojima, Naito Tetsuro and Tomoko Takeda from Dongara Tomorou and Japanese folk performer Ako Tomine and many more!
In addition to music and dance, bring your appetite because you are going to want to try some typical Japanese food!
If you were looking for a new hobby, there will be plenty of workshops such as an Origami workshop, karate, and ninjitsu.
This event is organized by the YMCA, the Japanese Culture Association, formed by Japanese volunteers who live in Barcelona.
