Maruja is the most charismatic band in the UK; the group's live shows are a spiritual experience that unites audiences through free-form jams of unclassifiable music. Imagine post-punk fused with free jazz, with lyrics rooted in rap and driven by pure message. Add to that a sound that gives you goosebumps: wild breakbeats, feral guitar loops, transcendent sax and psychedelic bass with lysergic undertones. This is Maruja: a force of nature born from spirituality and protest, held together by a deep friendship between four souls at the heart of the project.

Their reach is international: loved by BBC 6 Music, they’ve just made a major splash at SXSW and sold out their debut North American tour. Now, signed to Music For Nations, they’re putting the final touches on their debut album.
