The six-member, all-female band from Barcelona has made great waves in recent years. Flamenco, pop, Latin, and urban rhythms blend seamlessly thanks to the tapestry of voices that is Maruja Limón. Their lyrics tell stories rooted in their personal stories, revealing their pasts, presents, and possible futures.
With more than 200 concerts under their belt, the sextet has captivated audiences at festivals including Trans Musicales (France), Eurosonic (Netherlands), Sziget Festival (Hungary), Sudwave Arezzo (Italy), Maré de Agosto (Portugal), Festival Cruce, Pirineos Sur, Festival Actual, Festival de los Sentidos, MMVV, Guitar BCN, and many others.
In 2024, the band released Té como la cara (A), an EP in which the Barcelona-based artists embrace rumba in all its forms. This work explores the diverse landscapes of Catalan, flamenco, quinqui, mestizo, and Latin rumba, intertwining experimental, electronic, and organic sounds.
