Martha High & Soul Cookers
Mas i Mas Festival
to
Jamboree Jazz Club Plaça Reial 17, 08002 Barcelona
Marta High is a singer with a trajectory that evokes encounters of high profile. She can start a sentence talking about Bo Diddley and end it with George Clinton and James Brown, through Marvin Gaye. In her origins, when she joined James Brown’s orchestra in the mid-1960s, she never imagined that her artistic career would last more than five decades. Alongside the "Godfather of Soul," she discovered stages, recording studios and tours in all directions. She also participated in the evolution of African-American popular art linked to soul. At Jamboree, she will perform in a quartet with the Soul Cookers, a group matching the energy of her proposal.
