Maria Coma, singer, composer, pianist and researcher with roots in Catalonia and Mallorca, comes to Barcelona to present a unique concert where she explores the limits between music and the body. With her new project Vocal Roots, the artist creates a universe that combines original music, vocal polyphony, sound art and performance, emphasizing the connection between voice and body to develop a deeply physical and multidimensional musical language.
Since 2016, Coma has resided in Berlin, where she has delved into experimental and traditional vocal practices, somatic movement and dance disciplines, and collaborations with artists such as Naïma Mazic, Stegreif Orchestra and Yotam Peled. With five albums published and more than 500 performances throughout Europe and South America, Coma has established herself as one of the most unique and innovative voices on the contemporary artistic scene.
Now, she comes to El Molino with a special concert, with pieces from Vocal Roots with piano, voice, pedals, samplers and vocal polyphony, accompanied by Maider Lasa and Elena Tarrats. She also revisits themes from her previous works and offers some surprises, creating an intimate and immersive space that invites listeners to immerse themselves in her micro and macrocosms of sound.
