Bossa nova pioneer, Rio beach boogie legend, and key figure in Brazilian pop Marcos Valle comes to Sala Apolo for a musical journey spanning over six decades of innovation and excellence.
From samba and bossa nova to psychedelic MPB and beach boogie, Valle has been one of Brazil’s most influential composers, arrangers and performers. His chameleonic style and ability to reinvent himself have led him to collaborate with artists like Leon Ware, Sarah Vaughan and Chicago, and his music has been sampled by Jay Z, Kanye West, Childish Gambino, Madlib and Kaytranada.
His songs have been performed by legends such as Frank Sinatra and Bebel Gilberto, and even Emma Bunton (Spice Girls) covered his classic “Os Grilos (The Crickets Sing For Anamaria)”. A night with Marcos Valle is more than a concert — it’s a celebration of Brazilian music in all its forms.
