Bud in Green is Luismi Segurado’s fourth album as a leader, and the first as part of a quintet, with compositions inspired by hard bop. Born in Salamanca in 1986, Luismi Segurado is one of the great pianists of his generation. As an interpreter and composer, he stands out for his extraordinary knowledge of the style and idiosyncrasy of the great names in piano jazz, as evidenced by the albums he has made in trio formation for the Fresh Sound label: Tritones y serendipia (2017), Hocicology (2019) with Jordi Rossy on drums, and Elfrieda, with Masa Kamaguchi. As a professor at the Taller de Músics, he has performed at festivals such as those in Terrassa and San Sebastián, and with artists of the caliber of Chris Kase, Bob Reynolds and Ramon Cardo.
