LOOP is a platform for video art, artists' films and moving image. Loop invites multidisciplinary artists to explore and widen the meaning of "place" in our multicultural, interconnected societies. The videos presented document, deconstruct, expand, challenge the experience of "place making."
Through a wide range of exhibitions, screenings and performances all over the city, this year’s edition of Barcelona’s groundbreaking videoart festival will delve into the multiple folds of time, exploring the features of a chrono-normative and chrono-regulated society.
Each year, the festival’s program is put together thanks to the engagement of an ever growing community of artists, curators and museum directors. This edition sees the participation of many practitioners living and working in Barcelona, or that have developed a strong relationship with the city. The festival is held alongside LOOP Fair, the professional meeting point for commercial galleries related to artists’ video and film. Taking place in many different venues around the city, the festival seeks to stimulate a network between non-profit institutions, curators, producers, artists, distributors, galleries, cultural centers and universities.
