Lifeline 2
In their first production of the season, the English Drama School presents Lifeline—a highly entertaining portrayal of people from all walks of life facing difficulties in their own way.
Inspired by a true story, Lifeline is set in recession era London in 2008. The story follows lovable no-hoper Phil Roach. His lacklustre relationship with his girlfriend Sarah Langdon ends disastrously and his life is torn apart. At his lowest ebb Phil decides to post five thousand flyers all over the city bearing his name and his telephone number with the simple message “Are you Lonely?¨ Over the course of 6 months Phil receives over ten thousand phone calls from people of all levels of society, ranging from the hilarious and downright ridiculous – to the creepy, predatory and the sinister.
A black comedy, a thriller; Lifeline is a story of compassion and the rediscovery of humanity in the sometimes barren far flung reaches of society.
Written, produced and directed by Julian Wickham. Click here for more information and ticket prices.
