On the occasion of Ciutat Oberta. Biennal de Pensament, the Design Museum invites you to visit the collective exhibition Leer una plaza, resulting from the collaboration and joint work of 3rd year ESO students from the Salvador Espriu Institute with the artist Clara Nubiola within the En Residència project.
During the past year through drawing, keeping a field diary, continuous exploration and conversation, the group collectively constructed a story about their environment.
Students and artists explored the Plaza de las Glorias in a process in which artistic practice is hybridized with a physical location in the city to generate a collective account of the urban environment. In an exercise that unfolded chronologically in weekly fieldwork through drawing, observation, criticism and daily narration, the group created a great subjective map of a square in constant transformation— a creative illustration of a moment in time of this unique urban landscape.
