La Grande Chapelle is one of the most prestigious ensembles dedicated to the revival of Hispanic musical heritage. Under the direction of Albert Recasens, an internationally renowned figure in this field, the evening will offer an elegant and moving sonic journey through the music of the Royal Chapel of the 17th century.
La Grande Chapelle will present Music for the Royal Chapel, a refined and contrasting program that invites the audience to discover the rich sound of the Hispanic Baroque. The repertoire includes works by Juan Hidalgo, Sebastián Durón, Carlos Patiño, and Manuel Machado, featuring villancicos, tonos humanos, and devotional pieces, as well as instrumental interludes such as the Jácara and the Marionas.
Founded in 2005, it has performed at some of the main festivals and auditoriums in Europe and America and has received numerous recording and musicological awards for its work in recovering Hispanic musical heritage.
