Sala Apolo c/ Nou de la Rambla 113, Barcelona
Fiml still from "La Danza de los Mirlos" directed by Álvaro Luque (Peru, 2022).
The most recognized band of Amazonian Cumbia, Los Mirlos represents a synthesis of a musical genre that arises from ancestry, family and the exploration of other rhythms like 1960’s psychedelic rock. Together with their leader and singer, Jorge Rodriguez, we undertake a journey into the heart of Latin America.
Álvaro Luque studied in Argentina at the Fundación Universidad del Cine (FUC). In Peru, he developed his career as a director. He co-founded the production company Saturno with his brother Alonso. His first short film, “LUX” (2014), received the Special Jury Prize at Curta Cinema in Rio de Janeiro and was selected at various international festivals. He is currently working on his first feature-length documentary, La Danza de Los Mirlos, which tells the story of the legendary Amazonian cumbia band.

DJ Set: Vitu Valera
Vitu Valera is a Peruvian composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Barcelona.
His music is a meeting point between electronic sounds and rhythms from the Afro-Latin diaspora, bringing the energy of the club into a live experience where sonic experimentation and real-time production take center stage.
In his proposal, Dembow, Merengue, Baile Funk, and Guaracha coexist with synthesizers and organic percussion, creating a live set in constant transformation.
His approach is intuitive and performative, where each show is an exploration of migration, movement, and the connection between cultures.
