Film still from "La 42" directed by José María Cabral (Dominican Republic, 2025)
In the Capotillo neighborhood of Santo Domingo, a single 600-meter street becomes a stage for celebration, art, and sheer survival. Dancers and performers inhabit the night to the relentless beat of dembow, driven byan insatiable hunger for expression and fame, while confronting police harassment and the weight of stereotypes of violence and drug trafficking. The camera plunges unflinchingly into this urban crucible, where bodiesin motion become acts of freedom, fury, and hope. La 42—source of inspiration for artists such as Bad Bunny, Arcángel, Tokischa, Akon, El Alfa, and La Perversa—shows us that dance here is more than movement: itis a cry of untamed humanity. A frenetic, sensorial experience that blurs the lines between documentary and fiction.

DJ Set: Dj Nieto
DJ Nieto is a Dominican DJ, remixer, and writer, currently based in Barcelona (Spain). He is an artist known for his great energy, charisma, professionalism, and talent—so much so that he earned the recognition title of “The Best of the Valley.”
He took his first steps in music at the young age of 14 (2006). Later, performing as a duo with his brother, they gained prominence in events, concerts, radio, and television throughout the Dominican Republic.
Years later, in 2018, his career experienced the breakthrough it needed, taking over the best venues in Spain such as Ibiza and Mallorca. He didn’t limit himself to Spanish venues, as he also performed internationally (Italy). He later rose to perform in some of the top nightclubs in Barcelona (EBONY and LeeQueen).
In 2022, after the COVID period, he continued dominating the top clubs in Barcelona and El Vallés. That same year, he opened Primavera Sound 2022 (RAZZMATAZZ) and completed a promotional tour in the United States, performing in places such as Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Boston.
