A renowned Basque company once again turns to the silent language of masks in a performance that is both tender and raw.

Forever is the story of a family drifting away from what they dreamed of being. With humor and irony, it examines the contradictions of love, highlighting issues such as motherhood, education, disability, and a lack of communication. A cinematic show set on a rotating platform, Forever is a carousel, the wheel of life. But it is also a spiral that, as it turns, delves deeper into the pain of the protagonists. How far can a lack of communication tear a family apart? What’s most unsettling and moving is that this family’s story could be our own.

Kulunka Teatro was founded in 2010 in Hernani, Gipuzkoa province, by actors Garbiñe Insausti and José Dault in order to experiment with different stage languages and make theatre accessible to all kinds of audiences. Fifteen years later, Kulunka Teatro is a prominent company on the national theatre scene with significant international projection, putting on around a thousand performances in thirty different countries. This same production, Forever, was presented at last year’s Barcelona Grec Festival, and is now back alongside two other creations by the same artists.
