If there is a word that characterizes Kevin Johansen it is versatility—even though he prefers to define himself as a degenerate. He's a singer-songwriter who breaks down the barriers between musical genres with the use of humor as a creative engine. The puns contained within his lyrics are his hallmark, along with the fusion of Latin American folk with pop.

This very personal style has made him one of the most recognized names in Latin music, with three Latin Grammy nominations in his 15 year career. In his 9th and most recent album, Algo Ritmos (Sony, 2019), Johansen incorporates bossa nova and ranchera in a fast-paced musical journey that reflects the crazy modern world that we live in.
