Two of the most important figures in the modern history of flamenco are playing together at Festival Porta Ferrada!
José Mercé (Jerez, 1955) is often pointed out as the last vestige of an unrepeatable generation of singers, while Tomatito (Almería, 1958), who played with Camarón and Paco de Lucía back in the day, is a figure without whom it would be very difficult to explain the evolution of modern flamenco guitar playing.
They have known each other for an eternity, but it was not until a few months ago that they released their first album together: In truth, an exquisite compilation of zambras, seguiriyas, alegrías, soleás, and bulerías, in which both reveal their wisdom and camaraderie.
Now, accompanied by an extraordinary band, Mercé and Tomatito perform for the first time together in a show of overflowing depth. They will share the stage with the female quartet Las Migas, who, with a renewed formation in which the incorporation of the singer Bego Salazar stands out, will present her new album, Cuatro.
