Joabe Reis is one of the most prominent names in the new Brazilian jazz scene. A trombonist, composer and producer, he made his solo debut in 2020 with the album Crew in Church, recorded with collaborators of the caliber of Toninho Horta, Nelson Ayres and Elliot Mason, a New York–based trombonist and member of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Rooted in jazz, Reis also draws influence from hip-hop, neo-soul, funk and pop. In his meteoric career, he has performed with artists such as Macy Gray, with whom he toured Brazil, Ivan Lins, Bob Mintzer, Hermeto Pascoal and Hamilton de Holanda, among others. As part of a European tour he presents his new album 028 (2024), featuring musicians Bob Mintzer and Gabriel Grossi.
