Born in New Orleans, Jesse Davis is a part of the great Jazz tradition started by the Marsalis family and other musicians from Mississippi. He has worked with Ellis Marsalis, Jack McDuff, Phil Woods, Gary Bartz, Hank Jones, Illinois Jacquet, Chico Hamilton, Junior Mance, Tete Montoliu, Roy Hargrove, and more. In Spain, he is known for his collaborations with local jazzmen Raynald Colom, the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, and the Barcelona Jazz Orchestra.
Influenced by Charlie Parker, Sonny Stitt, and Cannonball Adderley, in Jesse Davis’s lives shows he exhibits impeccable technique, a powerful sound, and a natural affinity for the blues.
His music has been branded as "neo-bop," but, as Davis says: “the only thing that interests me is to play any kind of beautiful music… nobody wants to listen to ugly music!” Neo-bop, jazz, or blues, his music is beautiful without a doubt.
