He has been called the “digital crooner” and voted “the most beautiful man in the world.” Swedish artist Jay-Jay Johanson, born in Trollhättan on October 11, 1968, began composing as a teenager, but it was not until August 1996 that the debut album Whiskey was released.

The instant success of the album, characterized by its jazz vocals over trip hop beats, supported by film noir arrangements, led Johanson on his first of many world tours. Twenty-seven years later, after having underground hits like “So Tell the Girl that I Am Back in Town,” “Believe In Us,” “On the Radio” and “Heard Somebody Whistle,” collaborating with Cocteau Twins and The Knife, he is still as active as ever, and has just released his 14th album Fetish and has started a new tour around the world where his fan base has only grown thanks to his very personal style.

For his 14th studio album, Johanson delivers one of his most direct albums in his entire discography. After a trilogy nuanced towards a certain introspection (Bury the Hatchet, Kings Cross, Rorschach Test), Fetish opens a new chapter in his career. Airy, melancholic and with cinematic atmospheres on the one hand, and dance and hypnotic happiness on the other.
