Following several memorable appearances at the Palau de la Música Catalana, Jan Lisiecki returns to the modernist hall with a solo recital that places dance at the heart of the piano repertoire. Featuring works by Martinů, Falla, Szymanowski, Schubert, Bartók, Ginastera, Chopin, Brahms, Piazzolla, and Albéniz, the Canadian pianist traces a musical journey that embraces traditions and geographies, from the refinement of the waltz to the blazing energy of the tango. With his polished technique and richly nuanced musicality, Lisiecki offers a personal take on this mosaic of rhythms and emotions. A vital and sophisticated program that invites us to listen to dance with our eyes closed.
