Fabiola García, a relentless detective, returns to her homeland to investigate the disappearance of young Mexican archaeologist Olga Zuloaga. There, she relives painful memories of her twin sister, who vanished without a trace during their childhood.
José Luis Zuloaga, Olga’s father and a daring journalist, arrives to meet her, convinced that his daughter has been kidnapped for political reasons. Faced with the many mysteries surrounding the case, Fabiola must put aside her skepticism to determine whether there are political connections or if the case is linked to the mythical Friendship Island, where other disappearances, unexplained healings, and extraterrestrial activity have been reported.
Hidden Island is inspired by the real legend of Friendship Island, a place shrouded in paranormal mysteries, miraculous healings, and alleged extraterrestrial contacts that were even investigated by the Chilean Navy. Set in the 1990s, the series blends thriller, horror, and science fiction with a contemporary look at faith, fear, and memory. With a script advised by Julio Rojas (Case 63) and starring Daniela Ramírez, Ana Valeria Becerril, and Raúl Méndez, the Chilean-Mexican production stands out for its high technical level and universal storytelling. Filmed in Patagonia, the series aims to position itself as a benchmark of Latin American thriller with global reach.
The session will include a screening of the first two episodes.
A screening in the 2025 edition of Serielizados Fest.
