Issac Delgado is undoubtedly one of the most renowned Cuban singers and songwriters in the world. The year 1991 marked a turning point in his musical career, when he decided to create his own orchestra under the guidance of acclaimed pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba. In 1992 he received the EGREM Award for his debut album Dando la Hora. In May he released his most recent album Mira como vengo.
With eleven tracks, Mira como vengo brings together many of the sounds that have accompanied Issac throughout his career. Timba returns with force, a natural pulse that has been with him since the 1990s, while salsa appears in various forms: modern, tinged with flamenco, shaped like a bolero and imbued with a romanticism that suits his voice so well. The bolero-chá, a recurring element in his musical universe, also has its place. Near the end of the album a rhythmic conga emerges, adding a final burst of freshness before the closing and leaving the listener wanting more.
