The exhibition Invisible Animals: Legend, Life, Extinction and Unextinction presents animals we can’t see as they are extinct (dinosaurs, dodos, Tasmanian tigers), as they only exist in people’s collective imagination (mermaids, dragons, yetis) or as they are very difficult beings to see, either because of how they live (giant squid) or because of pressure from humans (Montseny brook newt). The exhibition also features animals which have disappeared but which we try to bring back from extinction through genetics, art and cultural movements.
With every passing second, animal species which we have not yet seen or studied become extinct. Animals Invisibles aims to give visibility to the origins of the life of these animals and the stories around them, not only to protect biodiversity but also the memory of the peoples of the planet.
