India Martínez

India Martínez releases her her eighth album, Palmeras (Sony, 2019) with the determination of someone who knows she has achieved her own place in music.

In her almost 15-year career, India Martínez has not stopped, collaborating with top-level artists such as Pitingo, David Bisbal or Niña Pastori, and receiving awards, such as the Goya for the best song in 2015 for the film El Niño, by Daniel Monzón. With her own style halfway between melodic pop and flamenco, Martínez has also managed to incorporate urban music without renouncing its essence. In fact, her new work allows her to reconnect with her origins—she grew up in the neighborhood of Las Palmeras, in Córdoba—and empowers her even more thanks to songs like "La gitana," her newest success, which she describes as "a war cry that women and girls of all kinds we carry inside."
