Atávico

Through movement and bodies, landscapes of violence are explored, revealing how we are simultaneously victims and perpetrators of violence in our modern society. The piece's creator and choreographer, Brazilian dancer Poliana Lima, combines the art of dance with poetry, bringing to the forefront of the performance the idea that silence can be the most deafening sound when it comes to attack.
This piece was awarded first prize at the 2013 18th Choreographic Contest in Madrid.
