Cat Weatherill will be reading her brilliantly dark and disturbingly erotic version of Bluebeard at the Harlem Jazz Club. The English storytelling event will take place on Tuesday, April 23rd at 11:30pm. Entry is €6.
Weatherill's story is based Charles Perrault's fairy tale of the same name. In Perrault's version, Bluebeard's wife is given a key to a forbidden room which conceals Bluebeard's horrific secret. Weatherill recasts the female characters into bold and complex roles. She is a compelling storyteller, engaging her audience in with her fiery and theatrical style.
In 2012, Bluebeard was shortlist for Storytelling Performance of the Year in the British Awards for Storytelling Excellence.
