Gustavo Dudamel's innate talent has elevated him to the category of a genius. Resident conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orquesta Sinfònica Simón Bolívar, Dudamel was the youngest conductor to conduct the Vienna Philharmonic in its New Year Concert–an event reserved only for the greatest conductors.
His live performances captivate the audience, and he is always optimistic and hopeful, filled with energy. A staunch champion of music education and social development through art, in 2009 he was considered by Time magazine to be one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
The magic of the Venezuelan conductor will flood the Castell de Peralada Festival, accompanied by the prestigious Mahler Chamber Orchestra in a unique program: A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Felix Mendelssohn with actress María Valverde as the narrator, and Gustav Mahler’s Titan, one of the most loved and performed symphonies by the great composer.
