With Vivelo, Grupo Compay Segundo signs their most brilliant return to the international stage of Cuban Son. Direct heirs of the iconic Compay Segundo—who passed away in 2003—his lifelong bandmates decided to keep his legacy alive: to bring traditional Cuban music to the world.

This fourth album marks a turning point: for the first time, it includes eight original tracks composed by Salvador Repilado, son, double bassist, and longtime musical director of the group, together with Maikel Dinza, one of Cuba’s most promising young artists. The result is a work that masterfully blends roots and modernity, featuring collaborations with artists such as Issac Delgado, Alexander Abreu, and Rolando Luna. Vivelo is more than just an album: it is a celebration of life, a bridge between generations, and a faithful tribute to Compay’s spirit.
