Film still from "Gasoline Rainbow," directed by Bill Ross IV and Turner Ross (USA, 2023).
The Ross brothers, known for Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets, bring their directorial talent to a road movie featuring five teenagers from a small town in Eastern Oregon. They embark on a journey to the Pacific Coast the summer after high school, getting ready for the job market. Gasoline Rainbow captures the vibe of a Gen Z Easy Rider with a hint of coming-of-age flair, all set in the first post-COVID summer. It’s the perfect backdrop for the teens to confront their concerns and navigate the challenges of life while enjoying the adventure.
Nominated at the Venice Film Festival and winner of Best Feature Film at Seminci, Gasoline Rainbow keeps the audience engaged with its characters—individuals the Ross brothers are genuinely intrigued to film, people from the fringes of society with unexpected wisdom. The film’s eclectic yet brilliant soundtrack adds another layer, contrasting with the arid landscapes, from abandoned train stations to roads stretching into the horizon.
Film will be screened in original version with subtitles in Spanish.
A film in the 2026 edition the Americana Film Festival.
