Forty Shades of Blue, Ira Sachs (USA, 2005)
Forty Shades of Blue tells the story of Laura, a Russian woman living with Alan, a much older music producer. Despite the luxury surrounding her, Laura feels trapped in a cold and distant relationship. Her life in America is better than anything she's ever known, but Alan's carousing lifestyle tests her patience. When Michael the handsome, estranged son of one of Alan's previous marriages arrives on the scene, her world is upended, awakening desires and long-repressed emotions that force her to question her place in life and the future she truly wants. This deeply human drama explores themes of loneliness, passion and the search for identity, anchored by a powerful performance from Dina Korzun.
Film will be screened in original version with subtitles in Catalan.
