Flamencat
Under the name of Flamencat, the festival Guitar BCN hosts a concert series celebrating everything related to the Catalan flamenco scene. The series shines the spotlight on emerging talents with a modern perspective of the genre. Whether it’s the quintet Maruja Limón mixing flamenco with Latin rhythms, or singer Paula Domínguez combining traditional sounds with pop and R&B, the level of talent will delight and surprise music fans of any genre.
The cycle is completed by guitarist and singer Marc Suárez, who emerged from the Taller de Músics school to accompany young talents from the neighborhood under the name Cabal Music, and the Las Noray collective, which, in a very special concert in the Wad-Ras Prison for Women, demonstrates a traditional dance that celebrates the female footprint on the genre of flamenco music.
