The Fira del Vapor is an event that recreates the daily life in Sant Vicenç de Castellet from 1868 to 1923 when the railway and the textile factories were powered by steam. With the establishment of factories in the previously uninhabited municipality, the town of Sant Vicenç de Castellet was born.

Many people from the countryside came to the town seeking new opportunities, and gradually, it transformed from an agrarian society to an industrial one, accompanied by various changes. Many shops and artisan workshops were opened, and new needs arose. People could engage in dancing, theatre, singing, cafes, games, parties, and the emerging cinema, which provided an escape from the monotony and hardships of industrial and rural work.

Without the railway, textiles, stone and dance, it is hard to imagine what Sant Vicenç de Castellet would have become. The fair offers a range of shows reminiscent of that era for all audiences, an artisan market, a display of traditional crafts, games, and exhibitions. It is a great opportunity to take a trip back in time!
