Whilst sometimes a scandalous figure, his interpretive, indifferent and cold style of acting, led him to be considered the first modern anti-hero. Journey through a programme of his cinema hits, as well as his more dramatic roles in The Night of the Hunter (1955) and Ryan’s Daughter (1970), in this month-long series.
