Cinema, history, politics. A dialogue with Costa-Gavras
to
Filmoteca de Catalunya Plaça Salvador Seguí 1-9, 08001 Barcelona

Over the last half-century, prolific director Costa-Gavras has crafted an impressive career. Although best known for Hollywood films such as Missing (1982), starring Jack Lemmon, and Music Box (1989), starring Jessica Lange, he has directed dozens of films across the globe in several different languages, always creating stories that entwine the highly political with the deeply personal.
Now the current president of the French film organisation La Cinémathèque Française, Costa-Gavras will return to Filmoteca de Catalunya to collect the prestigious Catalunya International Prize in person. To commemorate the moment, the filmmaker will engage in a dialogue with Esteve Riambau, director of the film archive and author of a Gavras-focused book discussing his career and the social and political implications of his work.
The event is open to the public and free, although tickets should be obtained in advance. More information here.
