Festival CineMigrante
to
Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) Montalegre 5, 08001 Barcelona
From October 3rd to the 8th, Festival CineMigrante will showcase films dealing with cultural diversity, migration and human rights. In numerous venues across the city, such as the CCCB, Centre Cívic Pati Llimona and the Institut Français, there will be screenings, conferences, exhibitions and workshops with the aim of reflecting on the social and political consequences of migration. African filmmaker Rama Thiaw’s The Revolution Won’t Be Televised (2016) will open the festival, a documentary on the rebellion against President Wade in Senegal that was well-received when it premiered at Berlinale last year. Originating in Buenos Aires, the festival aspires to create a space for exchange and debate on the pertinent issues of human mobility and the human rights of migrants.
