Fig Market in Capellades
Mercat Figueter de Capellades
Capellades Capellades

The Fig Market in Capellades is one of the oldest fairs in the Anoia comarca (county). Held annually on the second Sunday of Lent, the market originally featured products characteristic of this period of the religious calendar such as salted cod, nuts and the popular dried and sugared figs—a product typical of Capellades and which give its name to the festival. The market has evolved over the years to become a lively event, where tradition and modernity come together. Among the outstanding activities are the commercial exhibition, street shows, traditional dances, a market with local products and an antiques auction. In addition, it has a wide range of options to enjoy with the youngest members of the family including craft workshops, parades and a play area.
Capellades, with its rich historical and cultural heritage, is the perfect place to enjoy with the family. Visit the famous paper mill museum, discover the fountains and natural sites of the area, and immerse yourself in the charm of this picturesque village in Anoia.
