Formed in 2016 and forged in the creative environment of Tomorrow’s Warriors, this band embodies the vitality of a generation that has brought jazz back to the streets, the clubs and the dance floors. Comprising Femi Koleoso (drums), TJ Koleoso (bass), Joe Armon-Jones (keys), Dylan Jones (trumpet), and James Mollison (saxophone), the group presents jazz as an open conversation, permeable to Afrobeat, hip-hop, grime, and R&B. Dance, No One’s Watching is, fittingly, an ode to dancing—an album that musically guides you through a night out in the city and chronicles the many dance floors Ezra Collective set foot on during their 2023 world tour, the year they became the first jazz group to win the Mercury Prize.
