After the success of 'The Equilibrium of Glamour' (New York, 2008) and 'Picture Day in the Garden' (Berlin, 2009), Erik Sandberg rounds off his controversial trilogy, about the influence of consumerism and its questionable effects on contemporary culture, with 'Wonderfully Nutritious', his first solo exhibition in Spain. With a combination of photography, drawing, collage, painting and 3D techniques, Sandberg has an extremely experimental creative process; adding and removing layers until he has achieved the best possible balance for his work. Living in LA, the artist describes his pieces as ¨some of the more perverse scenarios that occur when living in an entertainment-fertilized culture and the constant rotting of fruit in the sun”. If you too are interested in examining the underbelly of glamour then 'Wonderfully Nutritious' should be right up your street; look out for the hairy children portraits.
