Born in 1970, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Eric Sardinas has earned a reputation as one of the most passionate and intense slide guitarists of our time. Raised in a musically formative environment, he was drawn from a young age to the power and raw emotion of the blues, drawing inspiration from a fusion of musical influences that would shape his own unique sound.
The 1990s marked a turning point for Sardinas when he moved to Los Angeles, a city brimming with musical opportunities. There he formed his band, Eric Sardinas & Big Motor, and began attracting the attention of industry insiders with his explosive live performances and charismatic stage presence. In 1999 he released his debut album, Treat Me Right, on the legendary blues label Evidence Music. The album was a revelation: a vibrant blend of traditional Delta blues, gospel and hard boogie, driven by Sardinas' virtuosic slide guitar and raw, soulful vocals.
Critics praised his ability to honor the roots of the blues while injecting it with a vibrant modern energy that appealed to both purists and new generations of listeners. Songs like "Rollin' and Tumblin'" and "Murdered by Love" showcased his technical mastery and emotional depth. The album's success catapulted Sardinas to international fame. He began touring relentlessly, performing in clubs, theaters and festivals across North America, Europe and Asia. His energetic performances, often featuring his signature guitar solo during the climax of the show, earned him a reputation as one of the most exciting live performers in blues-rock.
Throughout the 2000s and beyond, Sardinas continued to build on his initial success, releasing a string of acclaimed albums that demonstrated his evolution as a musician and songwriter. Among his most notable albums are Devil's Train (2001), Black Pearls (2003), Eric Sardinas and Big Motor (2008), and Sticks & Stones (2011). He continues to tour and record albums, bringing his signature high-energy blues-rock style to audiences worldwide.
Sardinas remains a key figure at blues festivals and clubs, revered for his authenticity and relentless pursuit of musical excellence. His 2014 album, Boomerang, proved that decades into his career he still possesses the energy and creativity that distinguished him as a young artist. His latest album, Midnight Junction, released on October 13, 2023, is a testament to his enduring talent and passion for blues-rock. The album fuses blues tradition with rock energy, showcasing Sardinas' unmistakable slide guitar technique and soulful vocals.
Midnight Junction includes the single "Long Shot," which has already captivated fans and rock lovers alike. After a few select club shows in October 2024 and a performance at the Rawa Blues Festival, Poland's largest blues festival, Sardinas returns to Europe for a tour in January and February 2026.
