Ema and Gastón are a young couple who adopted Polo, a young boy. Unable to raise him, they give him back and must deal with the aftermath of the failed adoption as their household falls apart. Ema leaves Gastón and seeks new loves to appease her guilt. However, this is not her only goal—she also has a secret plan to get it all back.
Film is in Spanish with Spanish subtitles.
About the Director
Pablo Larraín Matte is a Chilean filmmaker, nominated for an Oscar in 2013 for No, as well as a Golden Globe Award in 2015 for El club and in 2016 for Neruda. In 2016, he released the film Jackie, about the life of Jacqueline Kennedy.
Barcelona Screening Details
In Barcelona, screenings will be held on the esplanade next to the CEM La Mar Bella. Due to the health regulations, capacity is limited and prior reservation is required. Reservations in Barcelona will open approximately one week before each session, with updated information to be posted on the festival's website.
Keep in mind that food and chairs will not be provided, so make sure to pack something tasty and a blanket for a lovely beach picnic under the stars. You are encouraged to arrive early for a good seat closest to the screen!
Timing
Screenings will begin at sunset sometime between 21:30 and 22:00, which will vary depending on the date. You should plan to arrive early and enjoy a the music session as you settle into your place.
