Marc Ortiz Prades' debut feature film Els mals noms demystifies the dark legend of "La Pastora," a young intersex person who was raised as a woman and struggles to be recognized as a man within the archaic Spanish society of the early 20th century.

The arrival of a group of guerrillas fleeing the Civil Guard becomes his last chance to make his dream come true—at the price of flight, isolation and reinvention. Based on a true story that has become a popular tale, the film stands as a defiant chronicle of resistance and transformation.

Film will be screened in original version (Catalan) with Spanish subtitles.
