Eels, the Californian band that has been giving us some of the most brilliant songs of the current indie/rock scene for more than a quarter of a century, announces its return to the stage with the Lockdown Hurricane tour.
Eels are eager to present their long-awaited new album Extreme Witchcraft, co-written and produced by guitarist and producer John Parish, who has already collaborated with the likes of PJ Harvey. The album marks his first collaboration since 2001's Souljackers.
In the words of Mark Oliver Everett, the band's outstanding frontman: "John Parish is one of the calmest, most polite people I've ever met. If you make music with him, you get things that no one else does. He has a really unique toolbox and musical perspective."
As for his anxiety about getting back out on the road, he added: "We have a ton of pent-up energy from all the time we've spent cooped up without being able to rock. This tour is like a gift. We always have a great time playing live but this time it's going to be crazy. We want the audience not to stop recording because we could explode at any moment."
