At the end of 2023, Ezra Furman used her show on BBC Radio 6 to share one of her new favorite songs: "Heady Metal" by Divorce. Introducing this Nottingham-based band, Furman confessed that upon first hearing them, she had mistakenly assumed they were American. The confusion is entirely understandable: the country-pop songs of Adam Peter-Smith, Felix Mackenzie-Barrow, Tiger Cohen-Towell and Kasper Sandstrom, blending the extraordinary with the ordinary, don't sound like they hail from the East Midlands but rather like the soundtrack to a caravan road trip fully equipped to cross the United States from coast to coast.
Their journey as a band, which officially began in 2021, is now leading them towards Drive to Goldenhammer, their debut album, which they present in Madrid and Barcelona in spring.
