Democrats Abroad Announces a Protest Against the Authoritarian Acts of the Trump Administration, with the Slogan: “No Dictators. Day of Defiance.”
Democrats Abroad (DA) is the official Democratic Party arm for the millions of U.S. citizens living outside the United States, has announced a protest rally in Barcelona for June 14th.
This will be to demonstrate opposition to the authoritarian acts of the administration of Donald Trump, many of which are against the Constitution. This protest is linked to the hundreds of global protests and events organized by Indivisible and other pro-democracy organizations that will take place the same day, a day on which Trump has organized a military parade to celebrate his birthday and Flag Day.
The Trump administration is taking actions that attack the values that the United States was founded on. The administration is defying orders from courts. It’s deporting immigrants without due process, in some cases, sending them to a notorious jail in El Salvador. It is attacking science, education, relationships with long-standing allies of the U.S., civil rights, immigrants and more. None of this should happen in a democratic country.
