Dave Douglas’ Gifts Trio is a celebration of the music and wisdom of legendary saxophonist Charles Lloyd. Inspired by his fascination with composers like Billy Strayhorn, the trio explores innovative ways to interpret song, combining texture, lyricism, and tonal depth.

Dave Douglas, a prolific trumpeter and composer, leads the group with his unmistakable musical vision, which has earned him awards such as the Doris Duke Artist Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and two Grammy nominations. With over 60 albums as a leader and 500 published works, Douglas is an essential figure in contemporary improvised music.

The trio also features two exceptional artists. Brooklyn-based drummer and composer Kate Gentile is an innovative force in modern jazz, known for projects such as biome i.i and Snark Horse. Her unique technique and intensity bring a unique rhythmic and dynamic dimension.

The line-up is completed by Camila Meza, a Chilean guitarist, singer and composer who combines jazz with influences from South American folk music. Her captivating voice and talent as a guitarist have been recognized by international critics, with notable collaborations and awards that attest to her prestige.
