Dancing Beethoven
Through the gaze of a young narrator, this documentary by Arantxa Aguirre displays a fascinating network of personal stories around the choreography of Maurice Béjart, premiered in 1964. From the rehearsals at the company's headquarters in Switzerland, the collaboration of the latter With the Toquio Ballet and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta, Aguirre shows the intercultural dialogue and artistic challenges of one of the most impressive choreographic shows of the 20th century. Dancing Beethoven was nominated for best documentary film at the Goya Awards 2017 and has received several awards.
