CurtÀneu makes quality cinema accessible to the Valls d’Àneu by bringing to the area a selection of short films recognized in competitions around the world. The films have a wide variety of themes: fiction, animation, documentary, sports, nature, environmental, experimental and rural as well as a selection of films produced by local filmmakers.

The festival is an agent of cultural, social and economic revitalization of the Valls d'Àneu. CurtÀneu encourages the production and consumption of cinema among the youngest with extraordinary sessions at the La Closa school and the SES Morelló Institute in Esterri d'Àneu, and brings short films to the old people's home in Esterri d'Àneu as well.
